The Nike Air Max 1 Puerto Rico is a premium edition of the iconic Air Max running shoe in a special colorway celebrating Puerto Rican heritage. Released in June 2019 just in time for the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City, the festive colorway features a color scheme inspired by the countrys flag with a white mesh and leather base and mismatched blue and red accents on opposite shoes. Special details include die-cut side Swooshes, a bumpy texture on the mudguards inspired by ostrich skin, striped laces, Puerto Rican flags embroidered on each heel, and the message Palante Mi Gente on the inside of the tongues.
